PROMOTIONS

WHAT IS REQUIRED TO MOVE UP IN THE RANKS

PROMOTIONS

Upon enrolment, a new cadet in the Army Cadet Program is known as a “cadet” (abbreviated as Cdt).

Appointment (or promotion) to higher ranks occurs after the cadet has met certain nationally prescribed standards. The specific criteria for all ranks is in place to ensure that every cadet is given the same opportunity to advance, provided that they have completed the necessary training, obtained the skills or qualifications needed to be promoted, and that there is a job for that individual the desired rank.

All promotions are at the discretion of the Commanding Officer, and subject to his/her approval.
